My students are doing well in their school orchestras. Lillian Chen is Concertmaster of Santiago Hills Elementary Orchestra in Irvine, and Christopher Chan is Concertmaster of the Newhart Middle School String Ensemble. Brent Lee is Principal 2nd violin in the Dana Hills Chamber Orchestra and Natalie Bickel is on 1st stand at Aliso Niguel High School. Bravo!
Many of my students have won leadership positions this year; Julia Wang is Concertmaster of the Concert Orchestra at Orange County School for the Arts. Katherine Park is 1st stand second violin in the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra. Elise Esplin is assistant Concertmaster of the Tesoro Chamber Orchestra, and Lillian Chen is assistant Concertmaster at Santiago Hills Elementary.
Congratulations to fifteen of my students who participated in the Music Teacher's Association Certificate of Merit, with special mention to Claire Jager for a perfect theory score, and to Richard Lu and Annie Chang for all excellent ratings on technique, sight-reading, and repertoire performance.
Congratulations to Annie Chang for winning Honorable Mention in the American International Protege Competition. Katherine Park has been invited to perform Vieuxtemps Concerto #5 at Carnegie Hall, after winning a prize in the same competition.
